Ode to 06

Today marks the 6 year anniversary of the death of one of my idols...Female 06. Often considered the "Angelina Jolie" of wolves at Yellowstone Park, she not only raised 13 pups, but left a legacy of beauty and fierceness.

I first learned about her through an NPR story and have been in awe of her ever since. She was a late bloomer similar to myself who left the pack late, though when she did she had two brothers as her mates. Her ability to take down an entire elk by herself, it usually takes four wolves, made her famous as well as her size and beauty.

I wasn't sure how to honor her and her daughter, so I did my best with this video:
